At Canadian Bilingual School, Arabic is given the same importance as English and it’s taught following the curriculum of the ministry of education in Kuwait.
As a part of our pride of our culture and our Arabic language, CBS has put in the effort to improve the students’ level in spoken and written Arabic through Arabic enrichment program
We’ve added extra activities and skills in Arabic to improve student’s performance. Those skills are introduced within the lessons weekly.
Students are encouraged to communicate with their teachers for additional support in Arabic.
The enrichment program is flexible and full of songs, activities and videos.
Students discuss and practice a different character trait every month with their teachers. A deeper focus this academic year on developing the character traits within our students, includes aligning the trait of each month with Islamic values and how it connects to our daily life.
Curriculum evaluation is a continuous and ongoing process in Arabic language subjects also, where teachers continually assess student data to improve instruction. Students read eBooks in Arabic using a digital library with leveled Arabic books that are aligned to students’ interests. Students also take the National Arabic standardized testing to assess student learning and growth in reading, writing and listening.
